    Description

Mavic 875 MTB Front derailleur Vintage Road Bike Campagnolo Eroica. I pulled this off an early 90s Ibis Mojo MTB and it shifted nicely on that bike, which had been ridden very little. This derailleur has little if any wear and the frame had been ridden very little, in fact Chuck Ibis bought the frame. That’s the only thing I’ll ever sell to that cheap mofo. You would never know that he makes and sells some of the best mtbs around.
The clamp has a plastic insert and measures about 1-3/16 inches with the insert present. Without the insert it looks to be 35 mm.
There are very few differences between the Mavic road and MTB derailleurs for this year of manufacture and we always thought about peeling up one of the fancy mtb stickers off the rear to see if the road logo was there, but of course we never did! It’s a real testament to the durability of Mavic gear that they could lengthen the cage on a road derailleur and slap it on an MTB. Not to mention the parts are replaceable and the derailleurs can be repaired. Small wonder the industry buried this design eventually. On the other hand it was heavy and mtb was all about weight then. If I remember correctly, Greg Lemond rode this derailleur on his first TDF win.
I will sell and ship internationally but do not pay until I get you a shipping cost revised for what eBay posts on the auction. I will ship by UPS with tracking.
