If you're looking at this auction you already know what this is. What I want to tell about the item is specific to this guitar.
This guitar was originally purchased from a guitar builder in china and has no specific "name brand"
I purchased as is and having several Frankenstrat guitars, the relic job could have been done better no doubt.
Only the Lic. by Floyd rose trem is original from China seller.
Pick ups, 500k pot, correct quarter, pick guard, 61071 neck plate and reflectors installed by me and are correct for guitar.
Humbucker is upgraded, high quality Paf just like Ed's.
Have had guitar set up and has low action. I believe it to play very well and sound good. Could use a fret level job to improve lower frets.
Does not include case or Whammy bar
In my opinion: The original Frankenstart was just spray painted and had a very rough texture and also the wear was due to no clear and paint rubbed off easily. The manufacturer used clear coat and did the relic after, which is hard to do and what you're left with is basically what looks like scratches in clear coat like on a car. I would suggest that scuffing the clear down would be an improvement to this piece.
Bottom line: This guitar looks killer hanging on the wall, gets lots of attention. For a serious collector or big EVH fan like myself, you can really pick it apart. No doubt it's a great representation of the Frankenstrat and with the parts I have added it's a player for sure. I would think someone could really take this to the next level in the relic phase and it would be killer!
Just as a reminder: Only the humbucker works. The neck pickup and toggle are just for looks. Goes without saying but worth a mention. I usually don't do auction style sales but need to move this quickly. Please keep in mind that this is priced accordingly. If you want a spot on or higher quality repo, you already know what those go for. Please ask any question ahead of time.
